These are some things that I came across this week that I found to be rather useful. I hope that you like them. Two of them are Mac-specific, so sorry to everyone who uses something else.
Visor
Visor is a little Application for the Mac that provides a systemwide terminal window accessible via a hotkey. Visor slides down over whatever you have open at the time, making it easy to access the terminal. Follow these instructions to (download it and) get it set up.

Leopard Stacks with Drawers
I read this article about how to improve the way your stacks look. Basically, you can download some nice drawer icons, provided by this Japanese website and make them show up in front of the rest of the icons in your stack. It seems to unify the icons, and certainly makes the dock look a lot better.

Instapaper
Instapaper is a simple site that lets you save bookmarks for future reading (similar to delicious). I like this because I often find articles or links that I would like to read later, but I usually just keep them open in my browser, clogging things up. Or, if I’m away at school, I save links in an e-mail draft. Using Instapaper could eliminate these issues, making my online browsing life better. (via)
Awesome programs. I’ve just finished installing Visor and the Stacks icon overlay. Do you know a good Mac program that will replace my current icon theme? I’ve downloaded tons of custom icon packs, but would rather not change out all the icons by hand.

The stacks overlays are excellent. I am surprised you did not start using them sooner, they were on my iMac last time you saw it.

Sour Swinger,
CandyBar ($29) and LiteIcon (free) are both Mac applications that can change your icon theme. However, I’ve never actually used either of them, so I can’t recommend them personally.
Justin,
I guess I either didn’t notice them on your iMac, or simply forgot to check them out at the time. Either way, they are definitely a nice addition to the dock.
